About Us
Our Story
Our mission is to protect and create stronger futures for our next seven generations by focusing on First Nation’s sovereignty and environmental sustainability.
Giizhgokwe is women-led, Indigenous-owned consulting firm dedicated to advocating for Michi Saagiig rights.
Our Advantage
• Extensive lived knowledge and understanding of William Treaty First Nations and particularly Michi Saagiig traditions, culture and history.
• 10+ years of direct experience setting up Curve Lake First Nation’s consultation office.
• Founded and led by a proud member of the Curve Lake First Nation, where our CEO has lived and worked on reserve her entire life
• 17+ years working with provincial and federal governments in duty to consult, treaty rights, environmental assessment, and sustainability where we directly saw key accommodation measures consistently left on the table, hindering meaningful progress for our people and benefiting proponents.
